Hello Everyone,

There is no arguing that collegiate football is very segregated by powerhouse teams and conferences. College football is probably the only sport where it is blantantly obvious who is going to dominate. We can look at NCAA men's and talk about Kansas, Villanova, University of North Carolins, Duke, Oklahom, and many more about their ability. We can talk about college track and field, college volleyball, and the other sports that have an elite bracket. Every sport at the college level possess an elite bracket.

Looking at the NCAA draw, every year there is a 12 seed that beats a 1 seed and goes through the first two round. This year things were no different with exception of Chicago-Loyola. If you participate in sports you have two mindsets; the Goliath will every time or David will defeat Goliath. This years David was Chicago-Loyola. People will wonder why Chicago-Loyola has such a great run. The simple answer is pressure. What did Chicago-Loyola have to lose? They come from a small Missouri Valley conference that practically noone watches. The team rather simply relaxed and played the basketball they know they can play. This is basic simple sport; relax and keep it simple.

Baseball and softball have small ball mechanics. Football has basic down blocking. Track and field has basic mechanics of running to keep pace. Is Chicago-Loyola an inspiration, probably not for anyone outside of Chicago and its fan base. But the lesson learned is that basic, keep it simple mechanics go a long ways. Focus on your ability and what you are coached and things will go well.

Have a great day!
