The Conference Room is Empty
Published by
Hello All, I took it upon myself to get the word out there about sport psychology and mental training. I reserved the room, paid my fee and let the dreams flow. Something inside of me told me that this was going to be a huge bust; and it is. I am in an empty room inside of a sports arena listening to volleyball balls slam on the floor. It is relaxing to hear workouts, strength, and dedication but the silence in the room is deafening. My ego is not bruised; I prepared for this. I knew deep inside this was going to happen. We as sport performance enhancers always tell our athletes to prepare for the hiccups. This is a hiccup, 21 empty chairs and an eager Mental Trainer trying to spead the word. Controllables, I cannot control the athlete, coach, or parent. I can control my thoughts and emotions. My thought..bummer! My emotions, sad. But, all I can do is press on. Moral of today for those that are looking for success in the running world, competition arena, or business world; failures happen. Just as coach is screaming to shuffle your feet, make a harder pass, or break away now, you make the adjustment and continue to play. I will continue to play because I am prepared. The good: Listening to volleyball being coached. Listening to young ladies live a dream. Listening to heart, desire, and passion spill all over the floor. |
